Improved lollipop packaging machine

Theegarten-Pactec has introduced its improved machine for the packaging of lollipops in Top Twist wrapping, due to growing demand in Asia and South America.

It is the first cut and wrap machine of the revised EW7 forming, cutting and packaging machine, which wraps soft caramels like toffees and chewing sweets in Top Twist and then adds the lollipop stick. Improvements include the integration of a servo-driven wrapping material take-off, which the company says offers accurate cutting and print image centring.

Theegarten-Pactec also equipped the system with a modern machine controller and implemented its gear design for the transmission of mechanical motions in the new EW7. The automatic operation allows several machines to be controlled by one operator, it explains.

The EW7 conforms with all applicable safety standards of the machinery directives: all parts in contact with the product are executed in food grade non-corroding stainless steel. This is said to provide the machine with increased protection from rust and fouling.

Theegarten-Pactec adds that the new machine has helped a Malaysian confectionery producer increase its production capacity to 350 products per minute.

“We can see great market potential for the Top Twist folding style of lollipops, especially in Asia and South America,” says Markus Rustler, managing director of Theegarten Pactec.
