Gulfood manufacturing set to mark its fifth anniversary in Dubai

Gulfood Manufacturing is marking its fifth anniversary with a raft of cutting-edge industry solutions, including for the confectionery and bakery sectors, with its latest event confirmed for the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) between 6-8 November 2018.

According to its organisers, the international trade fair will feature more than 1600, local regional and global suppliers and service providers from across 60 countries, with results analysed from last year’s show revealing it had proved its most successful to date. This was underlined by its highest visitor figures, posting more than 35,000 attendees across its three days.

For 2018, the event spans 80,000 square metres of exhibition space across 16 halls, with the three-day show serving as a tailor-made business and sales platform for networking, knowledge sharing and enhancing commercial opportunities.

Its six core areas of focus will include packaging, featuring equipment and machinery, printing, labelling, weighing, sorting and decorating for large, mid and small-scale businesses. A number of leading companies in the confectionery segment will be returning to the event, including Germany’s Theegarten-Pactec, and the Italian Cama group. There is also a prime focus on processing, covering everything from general cross-industry processing lines and technologies, to industry-specific equipment.

Among those exhibiting for the first time will be GR Industrial Engineering from Chile, with its experts showing confectionery industry processors their specialist chocolate moulding lines, automatic panning systems for hard, soft and chocolate panning. The company will also discuss its comprehensive range of auxiliary equipment and training services.

In addition, the event follows global trends in dedicating another key focus on  automation and controls, presenting technological innovation in automation – from robotics, smart manufacturing and digitalisation, including industry 4.0 and Industrial Internet of Things (IIOT) solutions. There will also be a showcase covering all aspects of ingredients, as well as supply chain solutions, showcasing end-to-end solutions for the food industry

With tens of thousands of visitors expected to attend the landmark fifth show, Gulfood Manufacturing innovation tours will outline the future of the food and beverage processing and production sector in the expanded automation & controls segment. There will be examples of robots working among humans at production lines, or high-speed machines delivering up to 200 items per minute.

The show will also feature one of the region’s largest hosted buyer programmes, with an anticipated contingent of 2,000 pre-qualified, c-level management attendees from across the Middle East, Africa and South Asia readying to invest heavily at the exhibition.

Elsewhere, the Gulfood Manufacturing industry excellence awards will recognise and reward best practices and innovation within the food manufacturing industry value chain. The awards will be judged by an international panel of qualified experts representing food processing and packaging industries, graphics experts, equipment suppliers, academia, trade press, governmental, environmental and trade organisations.

In addition, the event has revamped its conference element, which will bring renowned thought leaders, market analysts and industry experts to address, discuss and debate industry challenges and opportunities.
