Ferrero set to expand key confectionery lines at Sweets and Snacks Expo
Ferrero’s US division is unleashing key upgrades to its confectionery portfolio, with a host of extended ranges launching at the Sweets and Snacks Expo in the US, writes Neill Barston.
The event, which begins today with an initial supplier showcase in Indianapolis, Indiana with the core event following on from tomorrow until this Friday (25th June), .
Among the notable developments from Ferrero’s brands include the100Grand Share Pack being an elongated three-bar pack from 100 Grand. This will be the first of many changes that the brand will be unveiling to help consumers “Feel like 100 Grand.” The new 100Grand Share Pack will roll-out in stores in January.
Furthermore, another key release this summer comes in the form of Butterfinger Baking Bits, featuring the same crispy crunchy, peanut-butter taste found in a Butterfinger bar, delivered in ready-made bits perfect to help budding chefs dream up their next culinary dish.
Meanwhile, Butterfinger, CRUNCH, and Baby Ruth Minis will be reinvented with new standout graphics and packaging. These new Minis packs will help reinforce the shareability of these core brands. Get your candy bowls ready, because these new packs begin to hit shelves February 2022.
The reveals come on the heels of a period of rapid growth for the company. Recently Ferrero has expanded its North America headquarters in New Jersey, opened three new distribution centres across the country, and announced the company’s first North American chocolate plant in Illinois. Company revenues have grown 10.4% so far this year, reflecting its continued expansion.
Paul Chibe, President and CEO of Ferrero North America, commented on the expanded range of products, which will be on show at the Expo this week.
He said: “With the re-opening of the economy, consumers are more ready than ever to be excited with Innovation and Product News. Ferrero’s announcements at Sweets & Snacks demonstrate how we keep our brands fresh and relevant through new products, new flavours, and new partnerships.”
The event in Indiana this week will also showcase a number of other offerings. These include Ferrero Golden Gallery Signature introducing two new flavours to its fine chocolate assortments this autumn – caramel Intenso, an intense dark chocolate shell that hides a smooth, rich caramel centre delicately flavoured with a hint of sea salt. It is also available in Chocolate Sonetto milk chocolate flavour, studded with hazelnut and almond pieces, finished with a delicate dusting of finely grated white chocolate.
In addition, the business is also showcasing a broad selection of innovations including its Kinder Joy Barbie “You Can Be Anything” Eggs, featuring 12 toys and five accessories that are compatible with the newly launched Applaydu app, as well as the Kinder Joy National Park Foundation Eggs, featuring 16 unique animal toys.
There will also be additions to the range with the Kinder Bueno Mini: Kinder Bueno, featuring individually wrapped, bite-size pieces, making it easy to share with friends and family that has just hit retail shelves.
Furthermore, the company has just unveiled its Nutella &GO! Multigrain Sticks, devised with oats and blueberries made to dip into the creamy hazelnut and cocoa deliciousness of Nutella as an anytime snack.
Not to be left out, Tic Tac will be featuring its “Gentle Messages” packs with limited edition catchphrases designed to spark confidence in consumers to engage in fun activities and make moments of connection. Consumers can submit a photo via hashtag showcasing how Tic Tac inspired a new moment for a chance to win prizes. Tic Tac Gentle Messages will be available in Freshmint, Orange and Fruit Adventure flavours in single and bottle packs from January 2022.
