The spirit of romance is very much in the air at Kent-headquartered Fudge Kitchen, as the business marks a notable story of two of its star employees are set to wed, writes Neill Barston.
Tia Hancy and Ian McCluskey have been running the Bath shop together for over 10 years, and now they are leaving the famed spa city for pastures new and getting married.
As the company, which has its manufacturing base near Canterbury explained, the young couple started working together in the York Fudge Kitchen shop in 2012 have worked together across the business ever since. To mark this extra special Valentine’s Day the couple have been spreading a little bit of love in Bath city centre with free fudge, valentine’s balloons and sweet discounts this week.
Richard Parson, MD of Fudge Kitchen, who met up with Confectionery Production this month at this year’s ISM event (read our March edition for more), commented: “Tia and Ian’s story reminds us that our shops are more than just somewhere to buy fudge — they’re places where connections are formed, whether that’s with our customers, our community, or each other. We couldn’t be happier for Ian and Tia and wish them a lifetime of happiness together!”
As the business, which has a number of stores across the country, noted, life is looking pretty sweet for Tia and Ian as the couple make plans to tie the knot in June this year and settle in York as they take on new roles within the Fudge Kitchen business.
